A judge presiding over the case heard arguments from attorneys and testimony from Christina Gourkani's father on Tuesday, who requested that the judge not reduce Vivian Alexandra Gomez's bail. Eventually, the judge denied the motion, maintaining her bail at $200,000 until Gomez's son was able to secure her release by posting bond.
However, Gomez's release is subject to several conditions. She has been instructed to surrender both her U.S. and Colombian passports to law enforcement authorities. Furthermore, she is required to remain in California at all times and is prohibited from performing any medical or cosmetic procedures or possessing any instruments associated with such procedures. Additionally, Gomez has waived her 4th Amendment rights and can be subjected to searches and seizures, including her electronic devices, by law enforcement.
Gomez is scheduled to appear in court again on June 7 to enter a plea, and to determine whether she will retain her current defense attorneys.
