During her relationship with Kanye West, Kim would show him any cuts of him that were filmed for Keeping Up with the Kardashians so he could approve them. He didn't "like to film everything," and she also avoided talking about him on the show. Back in 2017, she told the Hollywood Reporter, "I won’t really ever talk about something that’s going on with Kanye. ... I’ll talk about my feelings about whatever is going on. I’m very respectful about how his filming is.” "I think I might film something really exciting coming, but it wouldn’t be for this season," she told Variety. Pete won't be entirely absent from the first season, though. Kim said, "I’m definitely open to talking, and I definitely explain [our relationship].” She said that the audience will get to hear her talk about "how [she and Pete] met and who reached out to who and how it happened and all the details that everyone wants to know.” However, she also said that she's careful about what aspects of her divorce play out on camera. She said, "I’m always really respectful of what the kids will see. The reality is, we’re always a family. We always will have a love and respect for each other." "I do think it’s important for people to see that things aren’t perfect all the time, but that they can get better," she said.
