Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's divorce is at a standstill as she is still looking to get married status dissolved to single but he 'has yet to sign' The reason for the standstill in Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's divorce has been revealed according to a new report. As the 41-year-old reality star has been trying to get her married status dissolved to single for months, the 44-year-old artist's refusal to sign off on it is the reason the process has hit a snag according to a source for E! News on Monday. The insider told the publication: 'Kim is still trying to get the "married" status dissolved to "single" before they finalize the divorce, but Ye has yet to sign. Moving this divorce along isn't something he's acting quickly on, despite Kim's efforts.' Back in December TMZ reported that Kim filed the legal documents on Friday which will make her legally a single woman if signed off by a judge. Perhaps the most interesting thing is that Kim wants her maiden name restored which means dropping West despite her businesses like KKW Beauty and KKW fragrance using her married initials. The legal move is basically asking the judge to separate the issues of child custody, property, and financial implications from actual marital status. As Kim has enlisted celebrity attorney Laura Wasser, the decision to separate marital status from other issues not out of the ordinary for the lawyer who has worked plenty of other celebrity clientele. More than anything it allows anyone who is in the process of getting divorced to get on with their lives in being single and hash out other issues at a different time. Meanwhile Ye was seen at an LA building on Sunday for a church service and event after claiming estranged wife Kim accused him of 'putting a hit out on her' in a series of social media posts he later deleted. West posed for a picture with LA-based media personality Armon Wiggins at the event. He also had his kids with Kim - North, eight, Saint, five, Chicago, three, and Psalm, two - on hand for the event. A subsequent image on Instagram showed West walking with three children. That same day West claimed Kardashian accused him of 'putting a hit out on her' in a scathing new post as the divorced couple continue to feud over their oldest daughter's TikTok use and the rapper having once been barred from his younger child's birthday party. West has been lashing out at Kardashian's parenting tactics for weeks, most recently criticizing her for allowing daughter North to use TikTok without his permission. The Grammy-winning musician - who has an estimated net worth of $1.8 billion by Forbes estimates - rehashed old family drama on Instagram in an all-caps rant. He reiterated claims he was barred from attending his younger daughter Chicago's fourth birthday party, accused of stealing and forced to take a drug test. In his latest Instagram tirade, he claimed Kardashian - worth $1.4 billion - accused him of planning a 'hit' on her. 'These ideas can actually get someone locked up,' West said. 'They play like that with Black mens' lives weather [sic] it's getting them free or getting them locked up. I'm not playing about my Black children anymore.' The couple called it quits last February although West refused to let go of the relationship, claiming God would bring them back together after his curvaceous reality star ex moved on last November with comedian Pete Davidson. West in a track released last month rapped about beating the funny guy's 'a**.' Although their split initially appeared publicly amicable - with Kardashian supporting West's record release and new shoe line - it recently turned acrimonious as West began publicly dragging her parenting. He last week shared a picture of North on Instagram asking in the caption, 'Since this is my first divorce I need to know what should I do about my daughter being put on TikTok against my will?' In an apparent effort to legitimize his stance, West on Sunday shared a text exchange he had with Kardashian's cousin. 'Afterwards her other cousin Kara called me saying she agreed with me then said she would speak out publicly which she never did,' West said on Instagram. 'Then she suggested I take medication.' West revealed in 2020 that he has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which can cause sufferers to experience episodes shifting between manic highs and dark depressions. Hours later, Kardashian hit back on her Instagram slamming West's 'constant attacks' on her and accusing him of causing their family 'pain' in a lengthy statement, where she referred to herself as the 'main caregiver.' Kanye then responded again, screenshotting Kim's statement and posting another response saying: 'What do you mean by main provider ? America saw you try to kidnap my daughter on her birthday by not providing the address. Source Daily Mail
