Kim Kardashian is confirmed to attend this year's highly anticipated Met Gala, dispelling rumors about the Kardashian family's exclusion from the event. Despite Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour's reported efforts to reduce the guest list, sources have confirmed that Kim will be in attendance at the event taking place in May.
While it remains unknown if Kim's sisters will also be present at the event, Page Six reports that another one of her siblings has also received an invitation, with speculation that it may be Kendall.
The Kardashian Family and Kim's Past Met Gala Appearances
The Kardashian family has been a frequent guest at the Met Gala, with Kim Kardashian attending the event more times than any of her siblings. Her first appearance was in 2013, accompanied by her partner at the time, Kanye West. Last year, she turned heads with her Marilyn Monroe-inspired dress and blonde hair, accompanied by comedian Pete Davidson.
The upcoming Met Gala is set to take place on May 1st, with the theme "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty" in honor of the late designer's legacy. While there is no official announcement about Kim's outfit or designers, the evening will showcase Lagerfeld's evolution from two-dimensional sketches to three-dimensional garments.
According to Andrew Bolton, the Met's curator, the exhibition will not be a traditional retrospective, as Lagerfeld would have disliked such an approach. Instead, it will focus on the transformation of his designs from sketches to wearable pieces.
