Madonna's Chart Triumph: Iconic Artist Tops Billboard Once Again with 'Vulgar

Madonna, the legendary pop icon, has undeniably left an indelible mark on the music industry. With a career spanning several decades, Madonna has continuously reinvented herself, pushing boundaries and breaking records along the way. Her unique style, provocative performances, and chart-topping hits have solidified her status as one of the most influential artists of all time. Madonna's name has become synonymous with innovation and artistry, and her impact on popular culture cannot be overstated. From her iconic albums to her groundbreaking music videos, Madonna has captivated audiences worldwide. Her unparalleled success, both critically and commercially, has earned her a permanent place in the annals of music history. Madonna's legacy continues to inspire and empower generations of artists, cementing her as a true trailblazer and cultural icon.

Madonna has achieved another milestone in her illustrious career by securing her first No. 1 hit on a Billboard chart. Despite being a dominant force in the music industry for decades, this particular chart had eluded her until now.

Her latest success comes with the song "Vulgar," a collaboration with pop superstar Sam Smith. While it didn't make it to the Hot 100 chart, "Vulgar" has made an impressive impact on several other Billboard rankings.

Notably, "Vulgar" debuts at the top spot on this week's Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart. This chart specifically focuses on the sales figures of tracks classified as dance or electronic music. Unlike the Hot 100 or Hot Dance/Electronic Songs charts, this ranking solely considers sales data and excludes streams and radio play as factors.

Madonna's continuous presence and ability to conquer new territories in the music industry highlight her ongoing relevance and talent as the Queen of Pop.

According to Luminate, a data collector that provides consumption data to Billboard, Madonna and Sam Smith's "Vulgar" has sold a little over 2,600 copies, claiming the top spot on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart.

Interestingly, "Vulgar" marks Madonna's first No. 1 on this particular chart. Billboard introduced the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart after many of Madonna's dance hits had already made their mark, explaining why she doesn't have more chart-toppers in this category. Nonetheless, Madonna has now entered the chart with a total of 20 different tracks, with six of them reaching the top 10.

Billboard notes that Madonna's highest-charting hit on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart is "Levitating" by Dua Lipa. However, there seems to be some confusion as Madonna's name is not listed alongside Dua Lipa's, despite being featured on one version of the song. It's possible that they charted together at some point, even though the song is primarily recognized as Lipa's hit. "Levitating" peaked at No. 2 on the chart. Madonna's second-highest-charting singles on this chart are the remix of "Frozen" (featuring Sicknick) and "Living For Love," both reaching as high as No. 5.
