Robert De Niro, the renowned actor, is a proud father to six children. Despite their close bond, Robert De Niro's older kids have yet to meet his adorable 2-month-old daughter, Gia Virginia. However, the anticipation is mounting, and Robert De Niro is looking forward to the day when his older children will finally have the opportunity to meet their youngest sibling. On Father's Day, Robert De Niro plans to celebrate the special occasion by spending quality time with all of his kids, creating cherished memories together. The love and excitement within the De Niro family are palpable, and soon, Robert De Niro's older children will have the joyous experience of welcoming their new baby sister into their lives.
Robert De Niro's six eldest children have yet to meet the newest addition to their family, even though more than two months have passed since her birth.
"Not yet, but they will," De Niro revealed to PEOPLE during a Saturday interview at the Tribeca Film Festival's "A Bronx Tale" screening.
The iconic 79-year-old actor shared that his children, whose ages range from 51 to 11, will finally have the chance to meet baby Gia Virginia on Father's Day.
"I'm just going to spend it with the kids and all that," stated the "Goodfellas" star.
De Niro and his 45-year-old girlfriend, Tiffany Chen, welcomed little Gia on April 6. However, they kept the birth a secret for over a month until the actor corrected a reporter who mistakenly referred to him as a father of six, clarifying that he had recently become a father again.
Chen, appearing exhausted and wearing sunglasses, did not attend the red carpet event on Saturday after exhibiting similar fatigue at the film festival nine days prior.
As they strolled through the opening night of the Tribeca Film Festival, a somber atmosphere accompanied the couple, although they did display a subtle public display of affection by loosely holding hands.
The arrival of their baby girl marks the first child for the couple, who intentionally planned her birth despite De Niro's advanced age.
During an interview with TODAY earlier this month, the actor expressed confidence that his age would not hinder his ability to raise his daughter, noting that it would instead provide him with a unique perspective and wisdom that he didn't possess while raising his other six children.
He expressed, "It feels great, yeah," during that period.
"As you grow older, you gain a certain awareness of things in life, including family dynamics," he added.
The acclaimed actor, known for his role in "Taxi Driver," has a diverse brood of children. From his first marriage to Diahnne Abbott, he has two children, Drena, 51, and Raphael, 46. Additionally, he shares twin sons Julian and Aaron, aged 27, with model and actress Toukie Smith. Furthermore, he has a son named Elliot, 24, and a daughter named Helen, 11, from his second marriage to Grace Hightower.
