In a statement, Christie's announced, "Christie's is pleased to participate in the ongoing anniversary celebration initiated by Madonna and Saint Laurent's reissue of 'SEX,' the groundbreaking 1992 photography book by Madonna and Steven Meisel."

"As part of this project, Christie's will present 'Madonna x Meisel - The Sex Photographs,' an auction featuring over 40 one-of-a-kind works, in a live sale taking place in New York on October 6, 2023."

Madonna herself took to Instagram to share the exciting news.

Madonna Auctions 'SEX' Book Photos to Benefit Raising Malawi The iconic singer, known for her hit "Vogue," has revealed that the proceeds from the auction of her 'SEX' book photographs will be donated to Raising Malawi, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of children in Malawi through healthcare, education, and community support.

Taking to the photo-sharing platform, Madonna wrote, "It took us 4 decades and several provocative photo shoots to open people's minds through ART! It took @stevenmeiselofficial almost as long to join Instagram - just in time to announce our Christie's auction, to benefit @raisingmalawi. Proof that great causes can move mountains. 😉❤️"

Last year, Madonna described the release of 'SEX' as an "empowering" experience and strongly criticized those who attempted to shame her for her exploration of sexuality. She shared on her Instagram Story, "Thirty years ago, I published a book called S.E.X. that included naked photos of myself. It also featured photos of men kissing men, women kissing women, and myself kissing everyone. I expressed my sexual fantasies and shared my perspective on sexuality in an ironic manner. In the following years, I was interviewed by narrow-minded individuals who tried to shame me for empowering myself as a woman."
