Last month, Inside the Magic reported on an animatronic that had gone missing from Disneyland's version of the beloved dark ride, which has been entertaining guests for decades.

Pirates of the Caribbean first debuted at the Disneyland Resort in 1967 and quickly became a fan favorite. The attraction has since expanded to other Disney Resorts, including Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Park in Disneyland Paris, and Shanghai Disneyland.

Fans of the ride will surely remember a certain barefoot pirate who always got a laugh. Halfway through the attraction, guests float through a town being ransacked by pirates. As they pass under a bridge, they see a particularly disgusting pirate perched on the edge.

Missing Pirate Returns to Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean Ride

For a while, visitors to Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean ride were unable to pass under the dirty foot of a certain pirate who had gone missing.

However, reports from guests indicate that the character has now returned to his rightful place at the top of the bridge, meaning visitors can once again get up close to his unclean foot. Along with the return of this character, several other effects have been restored as well.

One guest reported, "As of my most recent ride (four hours ago), I'm happy to say that they have added back the Pirates of the Caribbean main theme to the ship attacking the fort scene. The 'don't be cheekin' woman is back and opens the window. All of the chase scenes are working. They brought back the pirate and the stray cats. The stinky pirate is back over the bridge."

Disney regularly updates and improves older rides and attractions, including Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and "It's a Small World," so visitors may notice new changes and additions each time they ride.
