Kim Kardashian has announced that she is studying acting in preparation for her upcoming appearance in Season 12 of FX's "American Horror Story." While attending the Met Gala on Monday, the reality TV star expressed her excitement about the project and revealed that production had already begun. Kardashian will be starring alongside "AHS" veteran Emma Roberts and is rumored to be taking on a "fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role." Although she remained tight-lipped about specific details, she confirmed that filming for her scenes will commence at the end of the month.

The news of Kim Kardashian's casting in "American Horror Story" Season 12 received mixed reactions, including criticism from acting veterans Patti LuPone and Sharon Stone, who didn't hold back their opinions.

During an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live," LuPone asked Kardashian rhetorically, "What are you doing with your life?" LuPone has worked with "AHS" creator Ryan Murphy on several occasions and appeared in Season 11 of the show.

After catching wind of LuPone's comment on social media, Stone added her own opinion, writing on Instagram, "It may not be brain surgery but we do treasure our art. We studied, we suffered, we do suffer for it. Ten thousand hours; it's a thing."

Following the mixed reactions to her casting in "American Horror Story," Kim Kardashian expressed that the show would provide an opportunity for her to step outside of her comfort zone, try something new, and grow as an actor. During a recent interview, when asked if she was taking acting lessons for the role, Kardashian confirmed that she was, stating, "It's a challenge. I like to challenge myself."

Although Kardashian has appeared as herself on various TV shows like "2 Broke Girls," "How I Met Your Mother," and "Last Man Standing," she has also taken on acting roles in other TV shows such as "Beyond the Break," "CSI: NY," and "Drop Dead Diva," as well as the film "PAW Patrol: The Movie."
