After getting all dolled up with her mom Kim Kardashian for the Met Gala, North West was seen dressed for the event. However, the 9-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West did not walk the carpet with her mom. It turns out that attendees of the Met Gala must be 18 years or older as of 2018, according to several sources. On May 1st, the day of the event, North was seen leaving The Mark Hotel, looking all grown up in a white blazer and jeans that channeled the evening's "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty" theme. Her outfit was completed with layered pearl necklaces and chunky earrings. Kardashian, who was turning heads in a Schiaparelli gown made from real pearls, held North's hand as they left the hotel.
According to reports from Vogue, Kardashian informed their reporters that North remained in the car while she watched the event after helping her mom get ready. Stormi, Kylie Jenner's 5-year-old daughter, was also present on the trip to NYC along with her aunt Kendall Jenner.
Earlier in the week, the mother-daughter duo was photographed arriving in New York City, wearing head-to-toe Chanel. Kardashian posted on Instagram on April 26th that she had flown to France and visited Lagerfeld's office to gather "inspiration" for the annual ball.
The Skims CEO captioned an Instagram carousel, tagging Lagerfeld's fluffy white cat, Choupette, "Had a date with @choupetteofficiel in Paris. We then spent some time at @Karllagerfeld's office to get a little inspiration for the Met."
Although it was North's first time attending the Met, the elementary schooler has had her fair share of fashion moments. Whether it's rocking pink box braids or vintage graphic T-shirts, North knows how to command attention.
In July of 2022, North attended the Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris with Kardashian, wearing a cobalt blue varsity jacket. However, this was no ordinary outerwear piece. The jacket was an archival selection from her dad Kanye's first fashion brand, Pastelle, which the rapper founded in 2004 but is now defunct. Kanye had originally debuted the jacket, featuring red paneling and a yellow logo, at the American Music Awards in 2008.
Kardashian's stylist, Dani Levi, revealed that she obtained the rare jacket from consignment shop Justin Reed, which had listed it for $10,000 online. North complemented the cloak by wearing black straight-leg pants and platform Crocs from Balenciaga. She also carried a Balenciaga mini bag and accessorized with blue sunglasses.
The next day, North and Kardashian sat in the front row at the Jean Paul Gaultier show, wearing coordinating pinstriped ensembles. North wore a dark vest and pleated skirt on top of a white button-up shirt, while the SKKN by Kim founder wore a skintight dress with a nude bodice. The outfit was a tribute to a design Madonna wore in 1992 that exposed her breasts.
