It's not just you who would move heaven and earth to alter their weekend plans to attend Taylor Swift's Eras tour. It turns out that Joanna Gaines managed to score a coveted ticket to the much-talked-about concert, and even left an event at High Point Furniture Market to be there.
The star of Fixer Upper had attended the well-known trade show in High Point, North Carolina over the weekend, where she spoke at a keynote panel series titled "Designing a Business You Love" on Saturday, April 22. According to the event website, other notable guests included designers Amber Lewis, Jean Stoffer, Julia Marcum from Chris Loves Julia, and Carrier and Company's Mara Miller and Jesse Carrier. After the panel discussion, the other panelists headed to a post-keynote meet-and-greet at the Loloi showroom, which is where Gaines has a collection. However, according to a source who was present at the event, Gaines was escorted out of the building by security to attend a Taylor Swift concert. Apparently, she had already participated in a meet-and-greet with fans earlier in the day.
A few hours later, Gaines shared her favorite moments from the Eras Tour that took place the previous night in Houston, Texas.
Gaines' panel discussion ended at 3:00 PM ET, and the concert started at 6:30 PM CT. Unless the founder of Magnolia has discovered the secret to time travel, she most likely left High Point, got on a plane, and headed straight to the concert.
Although some fans may have been disappointed that Gaines missed the meet-and-greet, we can't blame her for rushing to Houston. The Eras Tour is arguably one of the most significant pop culture events of 2023, grossing $591 million in ticket revenue so far and dominating our social media feeds. (With over 69,000 fans in attendance at her opening show, it's officially the most attended U.S. concert by a female artist.) Beyond the stats, we also appreciate that Gaines is a devoted Swiftie.
The burning question on everyone's mind is: which T. Swift album is Gaines's favorite? (We're guessing Fearless.) Did she have the opportunity to meet Swift? (We're keeping our fingers crossed!) Who knows, perhaps we'll witness the Midnights artist taking a well-deserved girl's trip to Waco after the tour ends...
