Angelina Jolie, the renowned actress, has been in several high-profile relationships throughout her life. However, presently she is solely focused on her children. Angelina shares six children with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, from whom she filed for divorce in 2016 after two years of marriage.

In an exclusive interview in 2017, Angelina stated that she felt "a little bit stronger" following her split with Brad Pitt. As a mother, she felt that her primary responsibility was towards her children, who were going through their formative years. Therefore, everything else came second to that.

While there is often speculation regarding Angelina's dating life, a source revealed to in 2018 that she was not interested in pursuing any romantic relationships at that time. The source explained that Angelina was wholly focused on her children and their needs and that she would not be dating anyone for a long time.

Angelina Jolie was previously married to Billy Bob Thornton, her co-star in the movie Pushing Tin, from 2000 to 2003, before her relationship with Brad Pitt. In 2021, there were rumors linking her briefly to The Weeknd.

In March 2023, Jolie was seen having lunch with David Mayer de Rothschild, a British environmentalist. However, a source later clarified that their meeting was strictly for business purposes.

Looking back at Angelina Jolie's dating history, she has had several high-profile relationships and marriages.

Jonny Lee Miller

Angelina Jolie met English actor Jonny Lee Miller during the production of the film Hackers in 1995. The couple tied the knot in a small civil ceremony in 1996. Unfortunately, their busy schedules caused them to drift apart, leading to their separation after only a year of marriage. Angelina filed for divorce in 1999, and it was finalized the same year.

Despite their split, Angelina has spoken highly of Miller over the years. In 2003, she referred to him as a "solid man and a solid friend." In 2005, they were spotted having dinner together in London, and an observer remarked that they were both having a great time, laughing and enjoying each other's company. It was evident that they had remained very good friends.

Jenny Shimizu

Angelina Jolie became acquainted with Jenny Shimizu, her co-star in Foxfire, at around the same time she met Jonny Lee Miller. In 1996, Jolie and Shimizu spent a significant amount of time together. According to a statement made by Jolie to Girlfriends Magazine in 1997, as reported by InStyle, she considered Shimizu to be a potential significant other. Jolie expressed that if she hadn't married Miller, she might have married Shimizu instead. Jolie further stated that she fell in love with Shimizu at first sight and that Shimizu could have been a profound love in her life.

Billy Bob Thornton

Billy Bob Thornton entered Angelina Jolie's life in 1999 when they both appeared in the movie Pushing Tin. After Thornton abruptly ended his engagement to actress Laura Dern, the couple eloped in Las Vegas the following year.

One of the most well-known moments of Jolie and Thornton's relationship occurred in 2001 when they were seen wearing vials of each other's blood. Jolie even got a tattoo of her then-husband's name on her left arm.

In 2002, the couple announced that they were adopting a son, Maddox, from Cambodia. Jolie's father, Jon Voight, shared the joyful news during an Oscar nominee luncheon by proudly declaring, "I'm a grandfather today." Thornton had two children from previous relationships.

Despite their happiness, Jolie and Thornton filed for divorce in the same year. Jolie sought full custody of Maddox, and the divorce was finalized in May 2003.

Val Kilmer

Jolie was linked to actor Val Kilmer after they co-starred in the 2004 film Alexander. Kilmer was going through a divorce at the time, and he and Jolie were spotted together multiple times. However, neither party ever confirmed a romantic relationship.

In his 2020 memoir I'm Your Huckleberry, Kilmer wrote about his admiration for Jolie. He described her as "one of the most natural and talented actresses I've ever seen," and recalled how she would often bring her son Maddox to the set. "I have always been someone drawn to the mysteries of life, and she is one of those mysteries," Kilmer wrote.

Jolie and Kilmer remained friends after their time on set together. In a 2021 interview with The New York Times, Jolie called Kilmer a "great friend," and said she was "sad" to hear about his battle with throat cancer. "I think he's one of the most interesting people I've ever met," she added.

During the filming of the 2004 movie Alexander, Jolie and Val Kilmer were rumored to have had a romantic relationship, as they played the parents of Alexander the Great. Although there is no evidence that they actually dated, Kilmer admitted in his 2020 memoir I'm Your Huckleberry that he had a crush on Jolie.

Kilmer wrote that he couldn't wait to kiss Jolie and even joked about buying her a Gulfstream jet with a V+J painted on the tail in rainbow glory. He also mentioned that Jolie had recently adopted her first child, Maddox, and was a popular subject of the paparazzi, who were fascinated by her combination of unapproachable stardom and chic maternal instinct.

Kilmer went as far as to ask the director to add flashback scenes of the on-screen couple in love, but the director didn't pick up on the humor. Kilmer eventually gave up and simply told the director, "Oh, never mind. I just dig her, Oliver. It would be nice if we had some flashbacks when they were in love and happy together."

Brad Pitt

Jolie and Pitt's romance began on the set of the 2005 film Mr. and Mrs. Smith, while Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston. Following Pitt's divorce from Aniston, he accompanied Jolie to Ethiopia in July 2005 to adopt her daughter Zahara. By the following year, Jolie's children Maddox and Zahara had legally changed their last names to Jolie-Pitt, and the couple welcomed their first biological child, Shiloh, in 2006.

In the years that followed, Jolie and Pitt adopted son Pax and had twins Knox and Vivienne. In 2012, the couple announced their engagement, with Pitt's manager Cynthia Pett-Dante saying that "it is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy." They tied the knot on August 23, 2014, with their children heavily involved in the ceremony, including Pax baking the cake and Maddox and Pax walking Jolie down the aisle. The couple described it as a "very happy time for our family."

Jolie initiated a divorce from Pitt two years later and requested full custody of their children with visitation rights for Pitt. Her attorney stated that the decision was made for the family's health after an incident on a private flight. Pitt also released a statement expressing his sadness and concern for the well-being of their children, asking the press to respect their privacy during the difficult time.

The divorce led to a prolonged custody battle, and although Pitt was initially awarded more time with the children in May 2021, he lost it two months later when their judge was removed from the case for not disclosing his business relationship with him.

In 2022, Pitt took legal action against Jolie for selling her share of their winery, while Jolie requested that the FBI documents related to their airplane incident be made public in August.

According to a source close to Pitt, "What are the motivations of a person to take up court time and public resources in filing an anonymous FOIA request for material they have had for years? There's only one: to inflict the most amount of pain on her ex. There is no benefit to this. It is harmful to the children and the entire family for this to be made public."

Weeknd

Meanwhile, Jolie was rumored to be dating The Weeknd in 2021 after the two were spotted having dinner together twice. They shared a connection to Ethiopia, with The Weeknd having donated $1 million in relief efforts and Jolie adopting her daughter and launching The Zahara Program to help girls there. However, the rumors were never confirmed, and The Weeknd was later seen kissing DJ Simi Khadra in February 2022.
