Robert De Niro, who is 79 years old, has welcomed his seventh child, on Tuesday.
The Oscar-winning actor revealed the news himself in an interview with ET Canada on Monday while promoting his new movie, fittingly titled "About My Father."
During the interview, De Niro spoke about his experience with fatherhood and politely corrected the interviewer, Brittnee Blair, when she mentioned his previously known six children. "Seven, actually," De Niro said, before adding, "I just had a baby."
It is not known who the mother of De Niro's seventh child is, although the actor has six children from previous relationships. Despite this, the "Godfather" star expressed his enjoyment of fatherhood and emphasized the importance of being affectionate with his children, while also being firm when necessary.
In a modest tone, De Niro stated that he doesn't think of himself as a "cool dad" and joked about how his 11-year-old daughter, whom he adores, can sometimes be a source of "grief" for him. "And my youngest now, that'll be more to come," he added with a smile.
De Niro was previously married to Diahnne Abbott from 1976 to 1988, and they have two children together, Drena and Raphael. He also had twin sons, Aaron and Julian, with his former girlfriend Toukie Smith in 1995. De Niro was later married to Grace Hightower, and they have a son named Elliot and a daughter named Helen Grace. However, they split up in 2018.
