The celebrated icon, Barbra Streisand, turned 81 on April 24th, and her famous friends and fans, including Mariah Carey, Tony Bennett, Jennifer Hudson, and her record label Columbia Records, sent her warm birthday wishes.
The Songbird Supreme tweeted, “‘Living like Babs cause it’s evergreen,” referring to the homage paid to Streisand in her 2019 hit “Giving Me Life,” and added, “I love you Ms. Streisand!!!!! Happy anniversary @BarbraStreisand.”
Bennett, who famously performed a duet with the Broadway legend in their joint cover of “Smile,” started his birthday tribute with a quote from Babs herself, “‘Life’s too short. Start with dessert!’ – @BarbraStreisand,” and posted a smiling photo of the two. “Wishing the fabulous Barbra Streisand a Happy Birthday! May your day overflow with joy, love, and an abundance of sweet treats!”

Jennifer Hudson took to social media to honor Barbra Streisand on her 81st birthday, calling her "one of the greatest to ever do it!" and praising her for paving the way for women in the entertainment industry. Hudson's tweet read, "As a singer, songwriter, actress, director, producer, author, and so much more, Barbra Streisand has paved the way for women everywhere. We celebrate you, @BarbraStreisand!!!"
Coincidentally, on the same day, Adele and James Corden paid homage to the original Funny Girl star by performing her rendition of "Don't Rain on My Parade" in the final segment of Carpool Karaoke before Corden's departure from The Late Late Show after eight years as host.
In February, Streisand was awarded the 2023 Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Woman of Leadership Award, which she received in a ceremony held at the Library of Congress on Earth Day (April 22).
